Wrist Pets privacy policy
Effective date: November 4, 2026 · Last updated: November 4, 2026
This policy lives at [WEBSITE]/privacy. Inside the app, the purchase screen links to it, behind the grown-up gate (section 8).
Nolstar Studio ("we", "us" or "our") makes Wrist Pets, an Apple Watch game for babies and toddlers, and runs the website at [WEBSITE]. This policy covers the watch app, its complication and Smart Stack widget, the empty iPhone companion app that Apple requires, and the website. It explains the little that Wrist Pets keeps on your watch, everything it never collects, and how to reach us.
The short version
Wrist Pets collects no personal information. Not from your child, not from you.
- The game runs entirely on the watch. No accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, no third-party code, and no code of its own that talks to the internet.
- Nothing leaves the watch for us. The app's only network activity is Apple's StoreKit talking to the App Store (prices, buying, checking your purchase, approvals and renewals, restoring), under Apple's privacy policy. Separately, Apple may back up watch app data to your iPhone or iCloud, handle a Siri request to open the app and, only if you turned it on, send us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. Apple never tells us who you are.
- A few settings and a note of what you bought stay on the watch. Delete the app and they are gone.
- The motion sensor is read in the moment to move the animal. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent.
- The microphone, camera, location, contacts and health data are never touched.
- The one way we can receive personal information from you is if you email us. (Our website's host sees ordinary web request data; section 12.)
- Our App Store privacy label says "Data Not Collected". That is the whole story.
- Questions: [SUPPORT EMAIL].
The rest of this page says the same thing in the detail the law asks for.
1. Who we are
Wrist Pets is made by Nolstar Studio, a sole proprietorship registered in British Columbia, Canada, and Nolstar Studio is responsible for this policy and for Wrist Pets' compliance with privacy law; its owner is the person accountable for privacy and answers at [SUPPORT EMAIL]. Questions, requests and complaints: [SUPPORT EMAIL], [PHONE], or by mail to Nolstar Studio, [MAILING ADDRESS], British Columbia, Canada. Nolstar Studio has no parent company and no subsidiaries.
2. What Wrist Pets does not do
Wrist Pets does not:
- collect names, email addresses, photos, voice, location, health data, contacts or anything else about you or your child;
- have accounts, sign-in or passwords;
- create or read any unique identifier for you, your child or your watch, not even for its own internal operations;
- use analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, including on the grown-up screens, or track you across other apps or websites (so it never shows Apple's "Allow tracking" prompt);
- contain any third-party software kits, analytics tools, advertising networks or AI services (every framework it uses is Apple's own);
- connect to the internet from its own code (the only network activity is Apple's StoreKit, described in section 5);
- turn on the microphone or camera, record or keep motion or sound, or ask for any system permission;
- profile anyone, make automated decisions, or nudge a child toward buying or staying;
- sell, share, rent or trade personal information, because it holds none.
We built it this way on purpose:
- There are no privacy settings because the most private setting is the only one. The app does not know where you are and does not build a picture of your child. It has no network, microphone or camera of its own, so it cannot listen to, watch or report on your child.
- We have no plans to add analytics, crash-reporting or advertising kits. If that ever changed, this policy and the App Store privacy label would change first.
3. What Wrist Pets keeps on your watch
A handful of settings, in the app's own storage on the watch:
- the goodnight timer length;
- whether quiet mode is on;
- how switching animals works, plus a one-time note that the default was set;
- the last animal shown;
- whether you have seen the setup tips;
- a note of whether the game is unlocked (not yet, monthly plan or lifetime purchase), so the game can start straight away and keep working if the App Store is slow or unreachable; the app still re-checks with the App Store each time it opens.
These settings run the game and remember your choices; the purchase note unlocks the game. That is all we use them for. None of it identifies you or your child, and none of it is sent to us or anyone else. Like other watch app data, they are part of the Apple Watch backup on your paired iPhone, which goes wherever your iPhone backup goes (iCloud or your computer) under Apple's terms. Deleting Wrist Pets deletes all of it from the watch; a copy may remain in an existing backup until that backup is replaced.
4. What the app uses on the watch
Wrist Pets asks for no system permissions. It uses these parts of your watch:
Motion. One motion sensor is read about 50 times a second while you play, so the animal stays upright, slides when the wrist tilts and reacts to a shake. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent: each reading is discarded as soon as it has moved the animal, so nothing exists that could be used to recognize or identify a person. Apple Watch shows no permission prompt for this kind of motion use, so you were never asked.
Sound. All sounds are built into the app or generated on the watch and played through its speaker. The microphone is never used, nothing is recorded, and there are no camera, chat, voice-recording or internet features. (Siri can open the app; see below.)
Crown side, Double Tap and watch model. The app checks which side the Digital Crown is on so tilting works for either wrist. If you choose "Pinch twice" to switch animals, the watch's own Double Tap gesture (handled by watchOS on watches that support it) tells the app to switch; the app receives only that tap. The app also reads which Apple Watch model it is running on (for example Series 9 or Ultra 2) to pick a default for the switch-animal setting. Only that setting is saved; the model name is not stored or sent.
Complication and Smart Stack widget. These show the face of the animal you picked. The app writes no data for them; watchOS holds your pick in the watch face configuration, and it goes away with the app. Tapping it only opens the game.
Siri and Shortcuts. "Play Wrist Pets" is a shortcut you can say to Siri or assign to the Action button on Apple Watch Ultra. Apple handles the voice request under Apple's privacy policy; the app receives only the instruction to open.
5. Apple, purchases and the App Store
The purchase that unlocks Wrist Pets (a monthly plan or a one-time lifetime purchase) is sold only through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment, receipts, renewals, cancellations and refunds under its own terms and privacy policy (apple.com/legal/privacy). Apple is the seller, not someone we hand your data to: the app sends Apple nothing about you beyond the requests below.
The app talks to the App Store through Apple's StoreKit, and this is the only network traffic from Wrist Pets:
- when the app opens, it asks the App Store for current prices, whether a purchase is active on your Apple Account and whether any introductory offer applies to you, and it stays listening for Apple to report a new purchase, renewal or approval while it runs;
- when you buy, Apple's own purchase sheet takes the payment; if Ask to Buy is on, the purchase waits until a parent approves it;
- when you tap Restore Purchases, Apple re-checks the purchases on your Apple Account (Apple may ask you to confirm the account; the app never sees your sign-in).
The app records the answer (not yet, monthly or lifetime) in its own storage. Your purchase history lives with your Apple Account, not with us. We never receive your name, email address, payment details, Apple Account or any unique device identifier. What Apple shows us in its developer tools is aggregated:
- how many copies were bought in each country;
- how many subscriptions are active;
- sales and refund reports with no personal data (for subscriptions, Apple creates an anonymous Subscriber ID unique to you and Nolstar Studio);
- the reviews people post publicly under their App Store nickname.
Apple explains this in its "App Store & Privacy" notice at apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/app-store.
6. Optional crash reports and usage statistics (Apple's, not ours)
Apple shares crash reports and usage statistics for Wrist Pets with us only while "Share With App Developers" is on in your iPhone's Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements. Check it there; you can turn it off at any time, and it is off whenever "Share iPhone & Watch Analytics" is off. This is Apple's collection, not the app's, so our App Store privacy label stays "Data Not Collected". Apple strips anything that identifies you before we see it; we get a crash log and aggregate counts, use them only to find and fix bugs, never try to link them to a person, and delete the crash logs we download once the bug they describe is fixed.
7. If you email us
Apart from the website logs in section 12, the one way we can receive personal information from you is if you write to us.
- What arrives: your name (if you include it), your email address, your message and anything you attach, such as an App Store receipt.
- Why we use it: only to answer you and keep a record of the exchange.
- Where it is stored: our email runs on an outside email service, so your message may be stored on that service's servers, possibly outside Canada. The service is our service provider: it may use your message only to provide the service to us and must protect it under its own privacy commitments, at least as strong as this policy. We share it with no one else.
- How long: we delete support emails when we no longer need them to help you, and at most 12 months after the last message in the thread.
- What you can ask: at any time, what we hold about you, to correct or delete it, or to object to our keeping it.
- Grown-ups only: please have an adult write to us. If we learn that a child under 13 has emailed us, we delete the message.
We would disclose information only if the law required it, and we would have almost nothing to disclose.
8. Children's privacy
Wrist Pets is made for babies and toddlers and is sold in the Kids category of the App Store (ages 5 and under). It is a children's app under laws like COPPA. We honour children's privacy law in the simplest way possible:
- We collect no personal information from children, or from anyone else, and the app creates or reads no unique device identifier, even for its own internal operations. So we never ask a parent for consent under laws such as COPPA (United States), the GDPR (European Union), the UK GDPR or Canadian privacy law, and there is nothing for a parent to review, correct or delete.
- There is no way to type a name, make an account, chat, take a photo, record a voice or contact anyone from inside the game. The motion sensor only moves the animal on screen in the moment; nothing from it is kept, so nothing from it could identify a person.
- No ads, no analytics and no third-party code, so no child's data and no device data ever goes to a third party, including from the grown-up screens.
- Settings, the purchase screen and the Terms and Privacy links on it sit behind a grown-up gate: hold the gear button for three seconds, then turn the Digital Crown. Those two links (to the licence terms and to this policy on our website) are the only links in the app; there is no email link or any other way out of the app anywhere in it. The gate keeps little fingers out of settings and the App Store; it is not a parental-consent mechanism or a security feature, and it collects nothing. It does not replace Apple's own controls: for a child's Apple Account, turn on Ask to Buy and Screen Time on your iPhone so a parent approves every purchase.
- Buying goes through Apple's own purchase sheet, which the adult must confirm; with Ask to Buy on, the app waits for the family organizer's approval before unlocking. We do not see who buys the app.
If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example by email, write to [SUPPORT EMAIL] and we will delete it.
9. Retention, deletion and your rights
- Retention: because we collect nothing, there is nothing for us to keep. Settings and the purchase note stay on your watch until you change them, delete Wrist Pets or erase the watch. Apple keeps your purchase record as part of your Apple Account purchase history. Crash logs and support emails are kept as described in sections 6 and 7.
- Deletion: deleting Wrist Pets from the watch removes every setting and the purchase note (a copy may remain inside an existing Apple Watch backup until that backup is replaced). We cannot delete them for you, because we never have them. Your purchase is not lost; it belongs to your Apple Account and comes back with Restore Purchases.
- Consent: withdraw any consent at any time by deleting the app, and turn off "Share With App Developers" in your iPhone settings.
- Purchases: manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings (on iPhone: Settings > your name > Subscriptions); ask Apple about your purchase data or a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export personal information, to object to or restrict its use, and to complain to a regulator. Because the app sends us nothing, there is nothing for us to return about the app; if you have emailed us, section 7 describes what we hold. Email [SUPPORT EMAIL] with any request and we will answer within 30 days; we may first ask you to confirm that you sent the email.
10. Where you live
Canada. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act. The only personal information we hold is support email (section 7); the person accountable for privacy is named in section 1. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or, in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
European Union and United Kingdom. Wrist Pets itself processes no personal data. Your purchase is processed by Apple as the seller, to perform the contract you make with Apple. Our legal basis for using de-identified diagnostics Apple shares at your choice is our legitimate interest in keeping the app working; for support email, performing our agreement with you and our legitimate interest in handling support. You have the rights in section 9 and may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or the data protection authority where you live.
United States. Wrist Pets complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by collecting nothing from children. In the past 12 months Wrist Pets has collected no personal information. We do not sell personal information or share it with advertisers, we do no profiling or automated decision-making, and we hold nothing sensitive, so there is nothing to opt out of and nothing for a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off. You may also complain to the US Federal Trade Commission.
International transfers. Nolstar Studio is in British Columbia, Canada. Because the app sends us nothing, Wrist Pets transfers no personal data across borders; support email (section 7) is the one exception.
11. Security
Everything Wrist Pets stores lives in the app's own space on the watch, protected by watchOS and your watch passcode; any copy in an Apple Watch backup is protected by Apple (section 3). The app transmits nothing of yours, so there is nothing for us to secure in transit or on a server. No device is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise absolute security of your watch.
12. Website and links
The watch app uses no cookies or web technologies. Our website at [WEBSITE] is a static site served by a hosting provider, which sees ordinary request data such as your IP address and browser type in its server logs in order to serve and secure the pages. The host is our service provider: it may use that data only to provide the service to us and must protect it under its own privacy commitments, at least as strong as this policy. We add no analytics, advertising trackers or non-essential cookies. Links to Apple or other sites lead to services governed by their own policies, not this one. Inside the app, the only links out (Terms and Privacy, on the purchase screen) sit behind the grown-up gate described in section 8.
13. Changes to this policy
If we ever change what Wrist Pets does with data, we will update this policy, change the dates at the top, and update the App Store privacy label before the change ships. The current version is always at [WEBSITE]/privacy. For a material change we also say so in the App Store release notes of the next update. Wrist Pets has no accounts, so we have no way to email you; please check back when you update the app.
