Wrist Pets terms of use
Effective date: November 4, 2026 · Last updated: November 4, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Nolstar Studio ("we", "us" or "our"), a sole proprietorship in British Columbia, Canada, about the Wrist Pets app for Apple Watch ("Wrist Pets" or "the app") and our website at [WEBSITE]. By installing or using Wrist Pets, or by unlocking it, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy at [WEBSITE]/privacy. If you do not agree, do not install or use Wrist Pets.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under the law where you live and cannot give up. That includes provincial consumer protection law in Canada and consumer rights in the European Union and the United Kingdom. Wherever these Terms say "to the extent the law allows", that is what we mean.
The short version
For parents in a hurry. The full Terms below are what counts, but they say the same thing.
- Wrist Pets is a toy for a baby or toddler to play with on a grown-up's Apple Watch. It is not a baby monitor, a sleep aid or a learning program, and it cannot stop a child pressing the watch's buttons. Stay with your child while they play.
- This agreement is with you, the adult. A child cannot agree to anything. You are responsible for how the watch is used and for every purchase made on your Apple Account.
- The game is locked until you unlock it: a monthly plan (US list price US$0.99 a month, renews until you cancel) or a one-time Lifetime purchase (US list price US$9.99, never renews). There is no free version and, today, no free trial. The App Store shows the exact price in your currency before you confirm.
- Everything is bought through Apple. Apple takes the payment, handles refunds and holds the purchase under your Apple Account. We never see your payment details.
- Cancel the monthly plan any time on your iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Wrist Pets. Cancel at least 24 hours before the month ends to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
- Lifetime means one payment and no further charges, and the game stays unlocked for as long as Wrist Pets is on the App Store.
- Settings and purchases sit behind a grown-up gate: hold the gear button for three seconds, then turn the Digital Crown. It keeps little fingers out. It is not a substitute for Apple's Ask to Buy and Screen Time, or for you.
- The app collects nothing about you or your child. The Privacy Policy at [WEBSITE]/privacy has the details.
- Questions: [SUPPORT EMAIL].
1. Who agrees to these terms
Wrist Pets is made for babies and toddlers, but a child cannot agree to anything. This agreement is with you, the adult.
- You are the parent or guardian, or another adult, who installs Wrist Pets on an Apple Watch or unlocks it. You must have reached the age of majority where you live.
- The Apple Account used to install or buy the app is yours, or you are the family organizer who manages it.
- By letting a child play, you accept these Terms on the child's behalf. You are responsible for how the child uses the app, for the watch it runs on, and for every purchase made through your Apple Account, including purchases charged to your payment method by family members and purchases you approve through Ask to Buy.
2. This agreement is with Nolstar Studio, not Apple
These Terms are between you and Nolstar Studio only. Apple is not a party to them. Nolstar Studio alone is responsible for Wrist Pets and its content.
Anything you buy through the App Store is also covered by Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes). Nothing in these Terms changes Apple's terms. Section 14 repeats, in plain words, the responsibilities that Apple's Standard EULA places on us.
3. What Wrist Pets is
Wrist Pets is a small game for Apple Watch, made for babies and toddlers to play with a grown-up. Tap, tilt and shake the watch to play with an animal, with its own letter and sound. A goodnight timer and a quiet mode are there for parents.
Some plain facts about it:
- It needs an Apple Watch running watchOS 11 or later, paired with an iPhone.
- There is no iPhone app. The iPhone part of the download is an empty container that Apple requires. Nothing runs on the phone.
- The letters and sounds are simple play. We make no educational, developmental, therapeutic or health claims for Wrist Pets.
Wrist Pets is not a baby monitor, a babysitter, a child-safety device, a sleep aid, a medical device or an educational program. The goodnight timer is just a timer, and quiet mode is just a setting.
4. Your licence
Wrist Pets is licensed to you, not sold.
- Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA", apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula) grants your licence to the app. In plain words: a personal, non-transferable licence to install and play Wrist Pets on Apple Watches you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- These Terms are additional terms. They cover purchases, supervision, support, our own responsibility to you, and how to reach us. They do not change the Standard EULA. If these Terms and the Standard EULA ever conflict about the licence itself, about Apple's warranty or about Apple's liability, the Standard EULA governs.
- You may not copy, sell, rent, lend or redistribute Wrist Pets, or reverse engineer, decompile or modify it, except where the law expressly allows. All rights not given to you stay with us.
5. Supervision and safety
Wrist Pets is a toy for playing together on a grown-up's wrist. Please read this section even if you skip the rest.
- An Apple Watch is designed for adults. Never leave a baby or toddler alone with a watch. Keep the strap fastened on an adult's wrist, and keep the watch, its band and its charger away from a child's mouth. Follow Apple's safety guidance for the watch.
- The game cannot stop a child from pressing the watch's buttons or turning the Digital Crown. A child can leave the game, open other apps, or set off watch features; holding the side button, for example, can start an emergency call. Stay with them.
- Keep play short and watch the volume. The goodnight timer and quiet mode are conveniences, not safeguards. The app does not monitor your child in any way.
- You decide whether, how and for how long your child plays, and you are responsible for the child and the watch the whole time.
6. The grown-up gate and Apple's parental controls
Settings, the purchase screen, Restore purchases and every link out of the app sit behind a grown-up gate: hold the gear button for three seconds, then turn the Digital Crown. Nothing outside the gate links out of the game or offers anything to buy.
- What the gate is for: keeping little fingers out of settings and the App Store.
- What it is not: a security feature, a parental-consent tool, or a substitute for supervision.
- Apple's purchase sheet still needs you. Unlocking always goes through Apple's own purchase sheet, which needs your Apple Account confirmation.
- Turn on Apple's controls. We recommend Ask to Buy and Screen Time for the Apple Account the watch uses, so that a parent approves every purchase. You manage both on your iPhone.
- You are responsible for every purchase made through your Apple Account, whether or not the gate was used.
7. Unlocking the game
7.1 What you are buying
Wrist Pets is free to download, but the game stays locked until a grown-up unlocks it. There is no free version, and no free trial today (section 7.3 says what happens if we ever add one).
The unlock is sold only through Apple's App Store, in two forms:
- The Monthly plan (sold as "Wrist Pets Monthly"): an auto-renewing subscription, one month at a time. It unlocks the whole game for as long as the subscription is active.
- The Lifetime purchase (sold as "Wrist Pets Lifetime"): a one-time purchase. One payment, no further charges, and the game stays unlocked for as long as Wrist Pets is on the App Store. It never renews and does not expire.
Both forms unlock the same game. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase on Apple's purchase sheet. Apple handles payment, receipts, renewals, cancellation and refunds under its Media Services Terms and Conditions. We never see your payment details, your name or your Apple Account.
Neither purchase is shared through Family Sharing. It unlocks only on watches signed in with the Apple Account that bought it.
How the unlock works:
- Your purchase belongs to the Apple Account that made it, not to a particular watch.
- The app asks the App Store whether a purchase is active, keeps the answer on the watch so the game opens offline, and checks again each time it launches and after any purchase, renewal, refund or restore.
- If a purchase is refunded or revoked, or a subscription ends, the game locks again at its next check with the App Store.
7.2 Prices
The price you pay is the one the App Store shows on the purchase sheet, in your local currency, before you confirm. Our US list prices are US$0.99 a month and US$9.99 once. In other countries, Apple works out the local price from our base price, converts it to your currency and includes or adds tax as local rules require, so it may differ from the US-dollar figures on our website. The App Store price for your country is the one that applies.
We may change prices for new purchases at any time. For an existing monthly subscription, a new price applies only to future renewals: Apple tells you at least 30 days in advance and, where Apple's rules require it, asks you to agree before the new price starts. If you do not agree, your subscription simply ends at the end of the period you have paid for. You can cancel at any time before then. We reserve no other right to change what you pay.
7.3 The Monthly plan: the subscription details
Apple asks us to tell you these details. The purchase screen shows the essentials: the price, that the monthly plan renews until you cancel it at least 24 hours before it renews, and Restore purchases. Here is the full list.
- Subscription: Wrist Pets Monthly.
- Length: one month, renewing automatically.
- Price: the monthly price shown in the App Store in your local currency (US list price US$0.99).
- What you get: the whole game, every animal, for as long as the subscription is active.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically every month unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends, at the price shown.
- You can manage the subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time in your Apple Account settings (section 7.5).
- Cancelling stops future charges. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Deleting Wrist Pets from your watch does not cancel the subscription.
- Refunds come from Apple, not from us (section 7.7).
- These Terms (at [WEBSITE]/terms) and our Privacy Policy (at [WEBSITE]/privacy) apply.
If we ever offer a free trial, the purchase screen will say how long it lasts and the price charged when it ends. A trial turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Making the Lifetime purchase during a trial does not cancel the trial subscription; cancel it yourself (section 7.5).
7.4 The Lifetime purchase: what "lifetime" means
- "Lifetime" and "for life" mean one payment and no further charges, and the game stays unlocked for as long as Wrist Pets is on the App Store. Updates are covered in section 12.
- It unlocks the game on any Apple Watch signed in with the Apple Account that bought it. For most watches that is the Apple Account on the paired iPhone; for a watch set up for a family member, it is that watch's own Apple Account. It is not shared through Family Sharing. Use Restore purchases on a new or erased watch (section 7.6).
- It is not a promise of updates forever. If we ever stop offering Wrist Pets, copies already installed keep working for as long as watchOS allows, and nothing more is charged.
- If you make the Lifetime purchase while a monthly subscription is active, the subscription does not stop by itself, because Apple treats them as different kinds of purchase. Cancel the subscription yourself (section 7.5) so you are not charged again.
7.5 Cancelling the monthly subscription
You can cancel at any time, for free. We cannot do it for you; only Apple's tools can.
- On your iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Wrist Pets, then tap Cancel Subscription.
- On the watch, you may also be able to open the App Store app, scroll to Account, then Subscriptions.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep playing until then, and no further charge is taken.
- To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Only the Apple Account that bought it can cancel it; you cannot cancel another family member's subscription from your own account.
7.6 Restoring purchases
Already paid? If you reinstall Wrist Pets, set up a new watch, or the game shows as locked after a purchase, open the grown-up gate and tap Restore purchases. Apple may ask you to confirm your Apple Account; the app then re-checks the purchases on that account and unlocks the game. Nothing is charged. Restoring works only when the watch is signed in with the Apple Account that made the purchase: for most watches that is the Apple Account on the paired iPhone, and for a watch set up for a family member it is that watch's own Apple Account. There is no Nolstar account to sign in to.
7.7 Refunds
Every purchase is made from Apple, so refunds come from Apple, not from us. We never hold your money and cannot issue a refund. Apple decides refund requests under its own policies and the law where you live.
- To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with the Apple Account that made the purchase, choose Request a refund and pick Wrist Pets. You can also contact Apple Support.
- In the European Union and the United Kingdom you can cancel a purchase for a full refund within 14 days of your receipt, for any reason, unless you agreed at checkout to get the content right away and to give up that 14-day right (the App Store asks you this when you buy).
- Elsewhere, including Canada and the United States, Apple treats purchases as final but considers every refund request.
- Cancelling a subscription stops future charges. It does not refund the period already paid, except where Apple or your local law provides otherwise.
- If Apple refunds or revokes a purchase, the game locks again at its next check with the App Store.
Nothing in this section takes away refund or other rights you have under consumer protection law where you live.
7.8 Ask to Buy and purchases waiting for approval
Apple Watch can be set up for an older child with their own Apple Account (Apple calls this Family Setup). If that account makes the purchase and Ask to Buy is on, the purchase first goes to the family organizer for approval. The app says "Waiting for approval. The animals unlock as soon as it's approved." and unlocks once the organizer approves. The organizer is responsible for that purchase.
7.9 California residents
The Monthly plan renews automatically at the price and frequency shown when you bought it, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your Apple Account settings as described in section 7.5, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. For help cancelling or with a refund, contact Apple Support. If you are stuck, email us at [SUPPORT EMAIL] and we will point you to the right Apple page.
8. No accounts
Wrist Pets has no accounts, sign-in or passwords. Your purchase is tied to your Apple Account, which Apple manages under its own terms.
9. Privacy and device features
Our Privacy Policy at [WEBSITE]/privacy explains the few settings Wrist Pets keeps on your watch and everything it never collects. It forms part of these Terms. In short:
- No ads. No tracking. No analytics. The app sends nothing about you, your child or your watch to us, from any screen, including the grown-up Settings and purchase screens.
- Two things do leave the watch, both handled by Apple: communication with Apple's App Store, through Apple's own StoreKit, for product information, purchases, entitlement checks and restores; and, only if you have turned on Share With App Developers on your iPhone, the anonymous crash reports and usage statistics that Apple collects.
Wrist Pets asks for no system permissions. It uses these parts of your watch:
- The motion sensors, so the animal stays upright, slides when you tilt and reacts when you shake. Readings are used in the moment and are never saved or sent anywhere. This kind of motion use does not go through a permission prompt on Apple Watch.
- The speaker, for sounds that are built into the app. The microphone, camera, location, health data and contacts are never used.
- The haptic engine, for the little taps a grown-up feels at the gate and before the goodnight timer ends, and the Digital Crown, for the gate and for play.
To pick sensible defaults, the app checks which Apple Watch model it is running on and which side the Digital Crown is on. Only the resulting settings are saved, on the watch, and nothing about the watch is sent anywhere.
The optional watch-face complication and Smart Stack widget show the animal you pick (its face, and in some sizes its name and a Tap to play line). watchOS keeps that pick as part of the watch face; the widget reads and holds no other data. The "Play Wrist Pets" Siri shortcut only opens the app; Siri itself is run by Apple.
10. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- use Wrist Pets for anything unlawful;
- try to get around the purchase check or the grown-up gate;
- reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, except where the law clearly lets you.
11. Intellectual property
The Wrist Pets name, logo, animals, artwork, sounds, software and everything else in the app belong to Nolstar Studio and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Apart from the licence in section 4, we keep all rights.
12. Changes to Wrist Pets and updates
- We may add, change or improve animals and features, and may change prices for new purchases, at any time. We may remove or replace a feature only if the core game keeps working as described.
- We will keep the app working as described on supported versions of watchOS for as long as you subscribe, and for a reasonable period after a Lifetime purchase. We may eventually require a newer version of watchOS; the core game will keep working on watches that can run it.
- If you made the Lifetime purchase and a change materially reduces what the game offers, we will say so in the App Store release notes before it ships, and you keep every remedy your consumer law gives you, including, in the EU and UK, the right to end the contract and ask Apple for a refund.
- We may stop offering Wrist Pets. Section 7.4 says what that means for the Lifetime purchase, and section 7.7 covers refunds.
13. Support and maintenance
Support for Wrist Pets comes from Nolstar Studio, not Apple, by email at [SUPPORT EMAIL]. We read every message and reply as soon as we can, but we do not promise a response time, except for privacy questions and requests, which we answer within 30 days as our Privacy Policy says. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Wrist Pets.
14. Apple and the App Store
Wrist Pets uses no third-party services. Apple provides the App Store, payment processing and the watchOS features the game runs on. Your use of those is subject to Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions, which you agree to follow. We do not control Apple's services and are not responsible for them.
Apple's Standard EULA already says the following about our responsibilities. We repeat it here in plain words so you do not have to read two documents to know who answers for what:
- Nolstar Studio, not Apple, is responsible for Wrist Pets, for maintaining and supporting it, and for any claim about it by you or anyone else, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection and privacy claims, and claims that it infringes someone else's intellectual property.
- If Wrist Pets fails to meet a warranty that applies to it, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund what you paid for it. Apple has no other warranty obligation for Wrist Pets. Any other claim goes to us.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept these Terms, Apple has, and is deemed to have accepted, the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
- Our name and contact details are in section 22.
15. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WRIST PETS IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not promise that Wrist Pets will run on every watch, be free of bugs, keep a child entertained, or stay on the App Store forever.
If you are a consumer, this section does not take away rights that your local law gives you and that you cannot give up. For example, under EU and UK law digital content must match its description and work properly, and you have remedies if it does not; the Quebec Consumer Protection Act and British Columbia's Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act give legal warranties that cannot be waived. If Wrist Pets does not do what we say it does, tell us at [SUPPORT EMAIL] and we will try to fix it. You may also use the refund route in section 7.7 and any remedy your local law provides.
16. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law does not let us limit. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and for anything else the law where you live does not allow a business to exclude.
Otherwise, to the fullest extent the law allows:
- Nolstar Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising out of Wrist Pets or these Terms.
- Our total liability for all claims about Wrist Pets or these Terms is capped at the greater of what you paid for Wrist Pets in the 12 months before the claim arose and one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100).
Some places do not allow some of these limits. There, our liability is limited only as far as the law permits. We do not ask you to cover our legal costs or losses.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of British Columbia will hear any dispute about them.
If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the laws of the place where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there. This applies in particular to consumers in every Canadian province, including Quebec, and in the European Union and the United Kingdom.
We do not require arbitration, and we do not ask you to give up a jury trial or the right to join a class action. The Standard EULA has its own governing-law clause for Apple's licence; these Terms do not change it.
18. Ending, stopping and transferring this agreement
- You can stop using Wrist Pets at any time by deleting it from your watch. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription; do that in your Apple Account settings (section 7.5).
- We may end your licence if you break these Terms, and we may block use that breaks them.
- We may stop offering Wrist Pets or any part of it (sections 7.4 and 12).
- We may transfer this agreement to a successor business, for example if Nolstar Studio becomes a company. You may not transfer it.
- Sections that by their nature should outlive this agreement, including ownership, disclaimers, limits on liability and governing law, continue to apply after it ends.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version, with its dates at the top, is always at [WEBSITE]/terms. We flag a material change by updating those dates and saying so in the App Store release notes of the next update. We have no accounts and no way to email you, so please check back when you update the app.
If a change affects what your purchase gives you or what it costs, it applies only from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then. Section 12 says what we promise Lifetime holders. Using Wrist Pets after updated Terms take effect means you accept them.
20. Language
These Terms are written in English. If we provide them in another language and the versions differ, the English version applies, except where the law where you live does not allow that.
21. Severability, waiver and entire agreement
If any part of these Terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a provision right away, we have not given it up. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the details Apple shows you on the App Store purchase sheet make up the whole agreement between you and Nolstar Studio about Wrist Pets.
